While unlikely in the near term development of superintelligent AI systems could potentially pose existential risks to humanity that must be addressed through ethical frameworks – although unlikely within a short period the eventual development of superintelligent AI systems might raise existential threats to mankind if not handled ethically.

As AI becomes more accessible, embedding ethical practices into education, open source projects and accessible tools will be critical for democratizing responsible development and use of AI. We should democratize these practices by embedding them into our educational curriculum, sourcing from open projects or even readily available tools as long as there’s an access point to it as far as harnessing responsible development and application of AI is concerned.

It’s an essential foundation for ensuring AI systems remain aligned with human values and interests as their capabilities grow; therefore, I would say that AI ethics is not just an academic discipline but a foundation upon which our machines can stay in line with what we perceive precious.
