Meta recently integrated its advanced AI chatbot, which is powered by the Llama 3 language model, into the search bars of its most popular apps, such as Facebook, Messenger, Instagram, and WhatsApp. With this update, Artificial intelligence (AI) features have been greatly improved across all of its platforms and are now accessible in many countries. The update not only makes the chatbot features better, but it also includes quicker image generation and gives users direct access to search results on the web within these apps.

Since its initial release in September, the Meta AI assistant has gained widespread visibility in the main Facebook feed and remains accessible through the messaging features of all Meta apps. To make the AI assistant more accessible, it is also available on a separate website called Meta.ai. This makes it easier for people to use Meta’s AI technology in a variety of settings.

Expanding AI capabilities across meta-platforms

Meta has just started to roll out a wide range of new AI tools and features. This launch includes the introduction of a new advanced language model, integration of Meta AI with its main applications, and a new web interface for Meta AI. It was launched for the first time in September 2023.

Meta AI can be used in many places from now on, especially in the search bars of Meta’s four main apps: Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Messenger. Because of this integration, Meta AI will be visible to billions of people around the world once it is fully set up. Meta AI shows up in search bars, direct messages in these apps, and normal Facebook posts, among other places.

In addition, Meta is releasing “Llama 3” the most recent version of its open-source model. It is said that Llama 3 does better than other models in its class, especially when it comes to jobs like coding. Meta is releasing two smaller versions of Llama 3 for both the Meta AI assistant and external developers, with a larger, more versatile version planned for release in the near future.

Initially, the AI features will only be available in English, but there are plans to include more languages later on. While this new rollout of Meta AI is starting in the U.S., it will soon reach other countries for the first time including Australia, Canada, Ghana, Jamaica, Malawi, New Zealand, Nigeria, Pakistan, Singapore, South Africa, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

What can you do with Meta AI?

What can you do with Meta AI?

If you’re familiar with tools like ChatGPT and other AI technologies, you’ll find Meta AI quite versatile. The chatbot can do a lot of different things, whether you’re on Meta’s own platform or one of their social media apps. Meta AI can search the internet, assist with problem-solving, work with you on coding projects, and write a lot of text content  that fits your needs—the whole package.

The Meta AI assistant now features real-time search capabilities using both Bing and Google. Depending on the question, the system knows which search engine to use and picks it. Besides that, its image generation capabilities have been improved. It can generate high-resolution images right away as you type, and it can also create animations GIFs.

Where and How to Use Meta AI

Meta is making its AI technology as accessible as possible. You can find Meta AI integrated into various features, including search bars, personal and group chats, and even within your social media feeds.

In this case, if you see a picture of the Northern Lights on Facebook, you can ask Meta AI when the best time is to go to Iceland to see this nature event. In this case, it shows how helpful and engaging AI can be in your social media experience.

The simplest way to try out Meta AI is to go to Meta.ai, their brand-new website. This site offers a user-friendly experience similar to chatting with ChatGPT, and you don’t need a Facebook account to use it.

Mark Zuckerberg recently stated on Threads that Meta AI is now integrated into the search features at the top of WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, and Messenger, making it accessible across all platforms.

What’s next for Meta AI?

Meta AI, though not fully launched yet, is already set for significant expansion. The company intends to integrate Meta AI into Meta Quest, their virtual reality platform, expanding the technology’s possibilities and improving user interactions in a virtual world.

Meta AI will also expand to more languages and regions for global access. People from all over the world will be able to use Meta AI’s features and interact with it through this phased growth. This will help make the world more connected and technologically advanced.
