During the recent Triple-i Initiative showcase, Ubisoft put an end to the swirling rumors by officially announcing their latest project, “The Rogue Prince of Persia.” As you may know, Evil Empire is known for making Dead Cells. They are now working on a new 2D action-platformer game.

“The Rogue Prince of Persia” promises a captivating experience, as seen by a gorgeous cinematic trailer that transforms into a captivating gameplay reveal. As shown, the gameplay seems to use dynamic and fluid mechanics similar to Dead Cells, with stunning graphics and exciting action. Check out the gameplay trailer below to get a preview of what’s to come and see where this beloved series is going in a new direction.

A New Adventure in Ctesiphon

In “The Rogue Prince of Persia,” which takes place in the legendary city of Ctesiphon, players take on the role of a brave prince whose actions accidentally start a war with the Huns, which threatens his kingdom. This game takes place in a lively fictional version of Ctesiphon, which was the capital of the Persia kingdom. It tells a story of invasion, bravery, and the fight to stay alive. With the malicious Hun chief Nogai in charge, an army of possessed soldiers threatens the city’s very life.

The prince has a magical bola that brings him back to life when he dies. This magical item resurrects him each time he dies, it also made him a strong fighter through the hard times he went through as a child, teaching him how to fight and do acrobatics. The prince is determined to stop the attack and save his city, people, and family. He promises to find his way to the center of the city and stop it.

With each death the prince is reborn, wiser and more aware of the obstacles that await him and the foes who must be defeated. As players guide the prince through different biomes, they can equip him with new weapons, items, and gear upgrades . Along the way, getting allies to protect the city becomes very important. “The Rogue Prince of Persia” puts players in a cycle of death and rebirth, where failure is just a step on the way to success. With each try, the prince gets closer to stopping the Huns from taking over Ctesiphon and restoring peace.

“The Rogue Prince of Persia” is a new side-scrolling roguelike adventure that draws inspiration from the hit game Dead Cells. The trailer makes it clear that the game’s graphics are stunning and capture the spirit of the action-packed platformer that has so many fans interested.

The game’s look might remind people of Dead Cells, but its own style is made possible by moves that are directly based on the Prince of Persia series. The game’s main feature is wall-running, which lets players skilfully move through levels with architecture inspired by Persia. Each level is procedurally generated to make sure that each playthrough is different.

An arsenal of weapons will be available to players, ranging from broadswords, axes, and twin daggers and spears for primary attacks. Shields, bows, and grappling hooks can be used as additional defense and attack tools, which gives the game more depth.

Based on what early access players feedback, Ubisoft has said that the game will be getting updates over time. The game world will grow with the addition of new levels, tough bosses, different weapons, smart enemies, and useful upgrades. This will make sure that “The Rogue Prince of Persia” keeps changing and keeping players interested in its fantastic world.

From Dead Cells to Persian adventures: Evil Empire’s new leap

“The Rogue Prince of Persia” will be available on Steam Early Access next month from Evil Empire, the studio that helped make the indie hit Dead Cells. Evil Empire started out as an extension of the Dead Cells development team. It allowed the original creators, Motion Twin, to work on other projects while adding new content to Dead Cells. The company worked on Dead Cells for five years and added successful expansions like “Return to Castlevania” and “The Queen and the Sea.” This was the last update for the game, which has a long history of success.

According to Evil Empire, “The Rogue Prince of Persia” is their first game under their own name. Similar to how the last game received praise, this new game appears to blend action, platforming, and roguelike gameplay with a Metroidvania feel.

Game director Lucie Dewagnier from Evil Empire spoke with Gamespot about the game’s inspiration and its connections to Dead Cells. “Dead Cells is in our DNA,” Dewagnier said. “We took inspiration from Dead Cells for the fast paced gameplay, the combat system, things like that. But for The Prince of Persia, we wanted to make an entirely new game, not a copy [and] paste.”

“The Rogue Prince of Persia” will be released early on Steam

“The Rogue Prince of Persia” will be available on Steam Early Access on May 14. The metroidvania-style game “Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown” which came out in January and was a hit with both players and reviewers, led to this exciting news. At the same time, rumor has it that “Prince of Persia: Sands of Time” the long-awaited remake, is undergoing a major makeover at the moment.

Final thoughts

Ubisoft’s announcement of “The Rogue Prince of Persia,” created by the team behind Dead Cells, is a fascinating addition to the world of action-platformers. As the studio’s first game, Evil Empire aims to combine the dynamic gameplay of Dead Cells with the rich history of the Prince of Persia series. It will be a one-of-a-kind metroidvania adventure with a randomly generated Persian-themed world and exciting wall-running elements. “The Rogue Prince of Persia,” which will be available on Steam Early Access on May 14, is set to captivate players with its fresh take on classic action and adventure. This comes after the critically praised “Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown” and as fans wait for the remake of “Prince of Persia: Sands of Time.” Ubisoft promises to improve the game based on player feedback, so the journey through Ctesiphon will evolve over time, bringing new challenges and discoveries with it as players rally to defend the city against invasion. Adding to this innovative streak, another intriguing leak hints at a new Sonic game that got leaked and reportedly mimics the gameplay style of Fall Guys.
